SENTENCE CLASSWORK WORKSHEETS
Students, this is a reminder to you to finish last Thursday's Centers. As soon as you finish, turn them in. They are NOT late. If you see them posted on this HWK Notice, it just means you are being reminded to turn them in.
DAY OF THE DEAD ALTAR SUPPLY NEEDED
Please bring a shoebox or other box of similar size ASAP.
Students may bring in photographs and other items for altar decorating.
HALLOWEEN
Please do not send any edible treats in on Halloween. We have a variety of activities planned, connected to the festivities! If you would like to make a service hour donation, we would like bags of frozen fruit, any type. Please contact me with any questions.
MISSION DOLORES GARDEN
We will paint, stack & reuse car/truck tires to create sturdy playground planters. Contact me if you would like to help with this. Free/used tires are available on www.craigslist.org. See our blog for more details.
THIRD NOTICE: 2Q3AWSDF`A SPECIAL ART LESSON: You need to bring something in!
As noted on the October 15th and 22nd Homework Notice/Newsletters, Ms. Coreen Abbot of the Museo Italo-Americano will be visiting us for an art lesson in perspective and portraiture. Her visit is part of the CIAO (Children's Italian Art Outreach) program. Students are to choose a family member, friend, acquaintance, saint, classmate, or celebrity whose portrait they wish to paint. ON NOVEMBER 1, EACH STUDENT WILL NEED A 6" X 8" COMPUTER IMAGE OF THEIR PORTRAIT SUBJECT'S HEAD-- Please make sure you have measured. Hint: You can do a google image search once you have selected your person. Please let me know if you have a question about this.

- From the University of California, Davis, I graduated with a BA in English Literature (major) and Teacher Education (minor). While at UCD, I competed on the swim team and was a yearbook staff writer. From the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, I earned a Master's Degree in Education, specializing in Curriculum and Instruction. While at the University of the Pacific I also wrote and received a grant for a literacy project and for a travel project. I possess a Clear Multiple Subject teaching credential with Supplementary Authorization in English from the State of California. I have passed the examination for California Teachers of English Learners (CLAD/CTEL) in all three domains. In addition, I am classified as a 'NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher'. For eleven years I have taught fourth grade (and I love it!) My education experiences also include 5th, a 4th/5th combination class, K, 1st, high school varsity/jv sports coaching and a unique & rewarding experience supervising incarcerated dual diagnosis developmentally disabled adults in math and reading activities. I am so excited to work with you this year!!
