Today our class participated in Shake Up San Francisco, a Citywide earthquake drill happening today.
Throughout San Francisco businesses, schools, individuals, non-governmental organizations and City departments are engaged in a variety of drills to test their emergency plans.
Today’s drill coincides with the 140th anniversary of the 1868 Hayward Fault Earthquake, one of the most damaging in the nation's history.
We know a catastrophic earthquake will happen again.
This is a chance for you and your family to get prepared. Practice what you would do after an earthquake. Check your disaster supplies. Make sure you know how to shut off your utilities. Take time to review your family and work emergency plans.

- From the University of California, Davis, I graduated with a BA in English Literature (major) and Teacher Education (minor). While at UCD, I competed on the swim team and was a yearbook staff writer. From the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, I earned a Master's Degree in Education, specializing in Curriculum and Instruction. While at the University of the Pacific I also wrote and received a grant for a literacy project and for a travel project. I possess a Clear Multiple Subject teaching credential with Supplementary Authorization in English from the State of California. I have passed the examination for California Teachers of English Learners (CLAD/CTEL) in all three domains. In addition, I am classified as a 'NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher'. For eleven years I have taught fourth grade (and I love it!) My education experiences also include 5th, a 4th/5th combination class, K, 1st, high school varsity/jv sports coaching and a unique & rewarding experience supervising incarcerated dual diagnosis developmentally disabled adults in math and reading activities. I am so excited to work with you this year!!
