A few updates of what we've been up to in our classroom.
SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITY
Painting our classroom tables, teacher desk, upper wall area and classroom trim after the end of the school year, in June. This is a big job and open to parents in any grade level. Please email me if you are interested in this job and we can arrange for dates/times. Parents may count these hours toward their 2010-2011 goal.
GARDEN UPDATE
We need more planter box liner so we don't lose our dirt! Anyone want to donate some!?!?
MAX UPDATE
Check out our earlier post about Max's surgery. Mrs. & Mr. G. picked up Max from UC Davis this afternoon. He's got a lot of stitches and a cone to prevent him from getting curious about those stitches. The vets decorated Max's cone with some doggie stickers. The vets also read your notes and took pictures with Flat Max!
LANGUAGE ARTS - Gr. 4
Students are writing well-crafted narratives about a personal object. They are deeply engrossed in this writing assessment. This will be a nice lead-in to a project they work on in 5th grade, biographies.

SCIENCE - Gr. 4 and Gr. 5
We've been preparing for a big test on Friday. Topics covered: Body Systems. Students should have brought home their Lab Notes to review.

TECHNOLOGY
Our Promethean Board has recently had some problems. We are working with a repair person to make corrections. This is not the norm for a board like this. Mrs. Demerjian's Promethean Board is not having any issues, nor are the other teachers I have spoken with in my training classes. This is good news overall, but temporarily bad news for our room!
EARTH DAY
We had an interesting & informative water presentation for our class today! Ask your student about what she/he learned.
