The maximum number of spelling words available this week will be 15. That is because students will be responsible for the spelling and the definitions of these words. By Tuesday, students will need to have created mini-flashcards for each of the 20 words. A mini flashcard is created by folding an index card in half (vertically) and cutting it.

7. nick (if you have a nick on a glass, there's a small chip in it)

9. drought (the opposite of a flood, not enough or very little water)
10. territory (an area marked off in some way)
11. maintain (keep the same, continue)
12. hunch (a feeling)
13. teeter (to move unsteadily, to be wobbly)
14. recite (to say something)
15. despise (to hate)
