When we return on January 5, 2009, we will go to the California Academy of Sciences after morning prayer.
Students should wear their school uniform and also wear a coat and if needed, bring an umbrella. We will have to eat our lunches outdoors so please layer accordingly.
This is a free field trip for us but students should have already brought in their dollar for their roundtrip Muni ride.
Students may bring cameras but MUST know how to operate the flash function. Many CAS animals are very light sensitive and suffer with camera flash.
Students may bring money if they would like to make a purchase in the gift shop at the end of the trip. This is not the focus of our trip, but is an option.
Each student should wear a backpack with:
lunch
drink
science lab book
colored pencils
pencils for note-taking
camera (optional)-- PLEASE KNOW HOW TO TURN FLASH OFF
money (optional)
ALL FOUR PARENT HELPER SLOTS HAVE BEEN FILLED.

- From the University of California, Davis, I graduated with a BA in English Literature (major) and Teacher Education (minor). While at UCD, I competed on the swim team and was a yearbook staff writer. From the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, I earned a Master's Degree in Education, specializing in Curriculum and Instruction. While at the University of the Pacific I also wrote and received a grant for a literacy project and for a travel project. I possess a Clear Multiple Subject teaching credential with Supplementary Authorization in English from the State of California. I have passed the examination for California Teachers of English Learners (CLAD/CTEL) in all three domains. In addition, I am classified as a 'NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher'. For eleven years I have taught fourth grade (and I love it!) My education experiences also include 5th, a 4th/5th combination class, K, 1st, high school varsity/jv sports coaching and a unique & rewarding experience supervising incarcerated dual diagnosis developmentally disabled adults in math and reading activities. I am so excited to work with you this year!!
